Last week, a hacking team called UnthreadedJB appeared out of nowhere to release an untethered jailbreak for older iPhones, iPads and iPod touches running iOS 5.1.1 or earlier. The team behind the jailbreak has now gone onto claim that they have a working untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 running on newer devices like the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S etc. This is newsworthy, since evasi0n doesn’t work on iOS 6.1.3 and above.
UnthreadedJB always appeared to be fake, given their broken English tweets, but the team did deliver a working untethered jailbreak, albeit for an older iOS versions that reused known exploits. Here’s what evad3rs member planetbeing had to say about unthredera1n:
a) some real work is done, at least porting the patches and reimplementing the exploit in non-ROP [Return-oriented programming] form and b) these people secretly CAN spell. Quite an interesting community troll it looks like.
[…] According to saurik, it’s a reimplementation in non-ROP form of the rocky racoon pf thing. An excellent choice since it can be exploited trivially in a few lines of code pre-iOS 5 if you don’t have to use ROP. Use of the amfid trick negates having to use ROP.
Also apparently there is a HIDDEN readme file wherein proper spelling, grammar and punctuation is used that credits us. We’re seriously being trolled hard.
I wish they used and/or updated my ios-patchfinder project so that it’d work on more than iPhone 4 CDMA though.
The target audience for unthreded’s older iOS version jailbreak was further reduced by the requirement of Linux, which only a minority of users have.
The fourth beta of iOS 7 was released yesterday. It is available to developers and carriers, but some users who are not afraid to take risks found a way to manually update to iOS 7 beta 4 for free [without UDID]. We recommend you to wait till the official firmware presentation later this year since beta build comes with different bugs.
They posted a couple of videos where is clearly seen that iOS 5.1, iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 are untethered jailbroken. But you can’t find the video where you see the whole jailbreaking process. Here below you can see the video (of unthreadedjb fans I guess) with the whole process in action; from the first step to the last with Cydia running on iOS 5.1 after rebooting.
It seems to be real and I don’t think that it is fake. The unthredera1n tool is really working. Let’s wait for the final release of the hack to the public. Stay tuned and get more fresh news on this topic.
The new update iOS 7 beta 4 was presented by Apple on Monday, July 29. This mobile firmware has build number 11A4435d. It is available at the Dev Center and via OTA update to iOS developers and carriers. Users with particular iPhone, iPad mini, iPod touch and iPad models assure they are able to update manually without a registered UDID, but experts suggest them to wait till the official iOS 7 release later this year.
Have you been upset about the new iOS 7 beta not being launched when everyone predicted it to appear online? Don’t be because Apple finally seeded its latest firmware version to developers and carriers. The iOS 7 beta 4 is now available for download so take some time to get it.
The delay was caused by Apple Dev Center being down for a long while. Whoever hacked it or whatever happened to this website, he or it made Apple to work days and night getting the site back to work. Find the links below or login into your Dev Center account and choose your device and model to update to iOS 7b4.

The fourth beta build is known as 11a4435d. The first three versions have been presented like clockwork with the two week break. This made experts believe that the fourth one will appear just a fortnight after the version 3 surfaced. Then something happened to the fruit Dev portal. The security breach was serious since it took the famous company several days to fix it.
Luckily, it’s over by now and iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users are able to officially update to this beta firmware [there are reports that it is possible to get the firmware even if you are not a developer]. Still don’t expect it to work perfectly well. It has a lot of bugs, issues and problems. The operating system is now being tested by devs and Apple fixes all the holes discovered during the testing period.
It is highly recommended to all ordinary users to stay away from the upgrade. Wait till iOS 7 is officially released this fall.

Registered developers can visit iOS Dev Center and either get OTA update or download the firmware directly using these links when it will be available:
Links to download iOS 7 beta 4 appeared on the website of Apple Developer Center. First links were inactive but now you can get iOS 7 beta without developer account and UDID registration.
As I wrote you yesterday beta 4 had to be released on July 22. But the British hacker attacked the Apple site for developers. But the site is up and running and if you have developer account you can go and get iOS 7 beta 4 direct links.
While a lot of customers expect to see iPhone 5S release this fall these pictures show us an “iPhone 5C” which is supposedly the next smartphone model we’ll get. These boxes are reportedly the packaging for a low-cost Apple smartphone.
There are a lot of ideas on what label “C” could mean. Some experts suggest it stands for “Colorful” since there have been pictures of colorful devices earlier pusted on different sites. Others suppose it stands for “Cheap” since this new handset should cost less than other Apple smartphones.
iPhone Lite: Fake or Real?
We understand that some of iPhone users look at these photos as if they were fake. The Cupertino-based company hasn’t confirmed anything yet so it might be just one of Asia clones of fruit devices. It might be real just as well. We’ll say it is fifty-fifty. Customers who wish to purchase a cheap iPhone are probably very excited about such images of many boxes labelled iPhone 5C.
Could these be the packaging for a low-cost iDevice? A lot of rumors suggest that this could be a colorful model available in yellow, pink, green, blue colors. The plastic shells of such a smartphone have appeared online a while ago but experts named its iPhone 5S. So what name will it get?
iPhone 5C or iPhone Lite
We should keep in mind that no Apple devices have ever been sold in plastic boxes. So the “C” could easily stand for clone made in China, couldn’t it? We’ve never seen iOS “C” model either. There was 3GS and 4S, but not 4C. At the same time all fruit gadgets are very expensive. In other words, if Apple really releases a smartphone cheaper than $400-500 than it could easily make it colorful and name it iPhone 5C. Why not?
The $300 model should be different from its expensive “brothers.” We are sure that more information on the mystical low-cost Apple handset will soon surface
The iOS 7 beta 4 release had to be on July 22. Plans were broken by the British hacker who attacked Apple developers site. On Thursday last week the company was forced to shut down access to the Developer Center and notified the developers, apologizing for the inconvenience. As a result, the launch date of the next beta of iOS 7 was delayed. Now, as expected, Apple nothing prevents to release iOS 4 beta 7.
Apple is expected to present its new iPhone model this fall. While customers simply hope it will happen soon, analysts make their predictions based on the plans announced by the Cupertino-based tech giant. Here is what well-known analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Walt Piecyk from BTIG think.
It is so long to wait for the new firmware release and keep the hope that evad3rs will develop iOS 7 jailbreak. But some news came here today that gave all iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 iPhone 5 users to get untethered jailbreak from UnthreadedJB group of foreign developers.
There is no information yet who they are and where they from but soon we will find out it.
The jailbreak is definitely an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1, that was launched in March 2012. It causes it to be the very first jailbreak for this firmware, because the Absinthe jailbreak was readily available for iOS 5.1.1 as well as redsn0w for iOS 6.1.3 but this one is tethered. It supports the CDMA iPhone 4 and it is readily available for Linux computers. However there are requirements:
You’ll need a Linux computer
iPhone 4 CDMA model, running on Verizon and Sprint carriers.
iPhone should be running iOS 5.1 firmware.
Even though many of you might not see the purpose of delivering a jailbreak for iOS which was launched at least a year ago, I believe this really is great news because it means there’s another number of developers who’re focusing on jailbreaking.
More than that. The UnthreadedJB group has posted a video on YouTube where everyone can see how this untethered jailbreak works.
Now you see that the method is really easy and quick. I hope UnthreadedJB will release the video where it will iOS 6.1.3 jailbreaking process.
