The last week of February was a successful one to a lot of iPhone and iPad users. Thanks to Chinese groups of hackers, both Windows and OS X Mac owners got a chance to untether jailbreak iOS 8.2 beta 2 and 1 using programs TaiG and PP Jailbreak. If you didn’t use this chance, you can no longer jailbreak if you are not running testing versions of iOS 8.2 because Apple no longer signing iOS 8.2 beta 2 and 1. What does it mean? While the Cupertino-based giant signs its earlier firmware versions, it is possible for users to update their gadget to them. As soon as the company stops signing a version of its mobile operating system, it becomes impossible to update or downgrade to it. Does Apple sign iOS 8.2 beta 2 or 1? The answer is ‘No,’ Apple has stopped supporting both betas. The new iOS 8.2 beta 2 signing status means you cannot install this version even if you can still download the ipsw file through direct links. If your iDevice is running iOS 8.1.3 you can’t upgrade to iOS 8.2 beta 1 or beta 2. And all other betas [3, 4 and 5 which are still being signed] cannot be jailbroken with PP or TaiG jailbreak. This is not surprising. The iPhone maker always stops signing previous versions once it releases new iOS to public. It is getting prepared to launch the official iOS 8.2 firmware in March and this could be the reason why both early betas aren’t supported now. If you had a chance to update to iOS 8.2 beta 2 or 1 while Apple was signing them, you can use TaiG to jailbreak both betas on Windows or PP Jailbreak to do the same on Mac OS X computers. Everyone else is out of luck for now. With the public iOS 8.2 coming out soon, users can hope that hackers from China find a way to present a working jailbreak for this firmware.
