Most iOS 8.2 features are well-known ahead of its public launch in March. Apple has even presented iOS 8.2 release notes ahead of the public presentation of this firmware update which is believed to take place the next week. Some iOS 8.2 specs were unveiled last November. This was when the iPhone giant began to test its future firmware update. There have been five betas in total that developers could test. Ordinary users who found direct links to download iOS 8.2 betas could also have peered inside this upgrade.

iOS 8.2 What’s New

Based on rumors from inner sources, the new update might bring some Health application enhancements. Just like any other update, it will also fix bugs [with Maps, iTunes syncing, Bluetooth, Calendar timezone and so on] and improve overall firmware stability [Music, Mail, VoiceOver, FlyOver] for all supported iDevices. Will Apple truly offer iOS 8.2 launch sometime at the second week of March? Such predictions exist, still we must note that some experts wanted to see this release even earlier.

iOS 8.2 What’s Different

The public version might reportedly get the build name 12D508 [some carrier partners mention such a number]. Apple is also expected to talk about iOS 8.2 during ‘Spring Forward’ event that takes place on March 9. With Apple Watch being prepared to enter the market in April, the new firmware is believed to focus on Fitness and Health. At least, iOS 8.2 release notes that are shared on the web mention that this operating system version will allow adding workout sessions and visualizing them, adding images to Medical ID, selecting measurement units for weight, blood glucose, body temperature etc. It should also solve the bug with Health data refreshing and problems with graphics. Besides, the upgrade should fix units for minerals and vitamins and allow disabling distance, steps and flights climbed tracking.

Hopefully Apple will fix ‘Freak’ security bug that was found by experts in 2015. The company promised to solve the issue as soon as it heard about it.
