Yesterday Apple received text input patent - one more weapon in a huge arsenal of patents. The patent bureau finally issued a document confirming the right of the text input technology with a relatively small touch screen. The patent numbered 8,232,973 is entitled "Methods, devices, and graphical user interface is recommended for text input." It describes the effect of increasing the square button, a virtual keyboard on the basis of intellectual input system without having to change the size of the visual images of buttons.

In the description of the patent is stated that due to the small size of the screen quality of the input text, the gadget is often affected. Apple has found a way out of this situation in June 2008 and submitted all the documents for consideration to the Patent Office. But only now, four years later it approved the right of the patent for Apple. Cupertino's company patent games became known a long time ago. Company constantly increases the amount of patented ideas and technologies trying to secure its inventions from the competitors. This strategy looks like a good idea considering the amount of currently active lawsuits that involves such companies as Samsung, Nokia and other players on the smartphone and tablet market. Probably, the smile on competitors faces is growing bigger with every patent of this kind because, all the Android- operated smartphones (as Galaxy III for instance) use such text input technology for a long time already. The thing is, four years have already passed since Apple filed this text input patent but they got it only now. Will we see this feature in the upcoming iOS 6 that will be presented somewhere in September this year? Maybe, but there is a chance that it will be kept for 'better times' and the feature can be introduced as 'new revolutionary technology'. That's Apple's style. How many jailbreak tweaks offer this way of text input by the moment, anyone?
