This post is for those who has accidently updated your iOS to latest iOS 5.1 and wanted to downgrade it. Why, first of all because there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 (latest news about that read here) and the second can be your own reason to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and lower. downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 ifaith Here I show you how to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1/5. However, you can’t downgrade iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4S. So when it is possible to SHSH blobs and APTicket on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad (first-gen) and iPod Touch you can downgrade iOS 5.1. If you are iPad 2 user then you can downgrade iOS 5.1 only to iOS 4.x as long as you have saved SHSH blobs for it. Remember: This method works only if you have saved APTicket and SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0.1 and 5.0 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad and iPod Touch. This method doesn’t work on iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

Downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and 5.0 using iFaith

Step 1. Get software Download iFaith for Windows here Download iOS 5.0.1 here Step 2. Build a signed firmware file by clicking on ‘Build *signed* IPSW w/Blobs’. downgrade iOS 5.1 using iFaith Step 3. Find SHSH blobs file that you saved for your gadget to downgrade back to the iOS 5.0.1/5.0. When iFaith will ask you to select stock firmware of which you want it to generate custom firmware file from. After that iFaith will have a new custom firmware file for you being on the desktop with SHSH blobs included for the firmware you are downgrading to. Step 4.  Last thing you have to do is to enter DFU mode via iFaith. Use iTunes to restore to this custom firmware file. And that’s it. Now your iPhone or iPad or iPod running iOS 5.1 is downgraded to iOS 5.0.1/5.0. So you can easily to jailbreak it and unlock it. Update to downgrade iOS 5.1 on iPad 2 go here and do it quick.
