Good news for Facebook SDK users - Facebook SDK 3.0 beta released and it's the biggest update the company has ever made.  It will even support the Facebook to iOS 6 integration. We already published the huge tutorial on how to use Facebook SDK on iOS but now the new version of the tool is here with some quite awesome features and new possibilities. The Zuckerberg's site says the new kit for software development includes:
  • better session management
  • native UI views that are ready to use
  • support of up-to-date Objective-C language features
  • improved support of Facebook APIs
Probably the biggest update is the integration of iOS. Right after official iOS 6 launch this fall new Facebook SDK will allow the native Facebook login usage where it is available. Looking in the reverse direction - developers will also just need to enable the "Login with Facebook" option to be sure the new SDK allows apps to work properly on each iOS starting from 4.0 version. Basically the Facebook SDK for iOS allows developers to integrate apps they make with the most popular social network. Company's tools allow to enable features like universal login and content sharing. The beta release is supported with the news site that explains more about how to build social applications for iOS by Apple. The "Getting started" guide will help developers find out what to start with, browse through the documents and sample code. They will also learn how to build and expand an app. As we told before, the Facebook integration is one of the significant iOS 6 features. The new operating system from Apple will reportedly be released fall 2012, most probably October. The feature will work very similar to Twitter iOS integration that appeared in the later versions of iOS 5. lt gives the users possibility to enter data about their social account within Settings application. The Facebook sharing options will be now enabled worldwide.
