Hacker Winocm who has been developing the untethered iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak proceeds with his work. He has managed to make his tool work on iPhone 5. His previous jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 utility helped him to untether iPhone 4S. The final version hasn’t been released yet but the progress gives us hopes we’ll see it this fall. At first, the binary found by Winocm was supposed to work on all iOS 6.1.3. It didn’t. It supported only one Apple handset. The Twitter account states that Winocm has installed Cydia on his iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4. This should cheer up all users with the sixth generation smartphone with the latest public firmware on it. iPhone Jailbreak The screenshots below shared by the hacker clearly shows us the Cydia icon on the sixth-gen handset which means that jailbreak iOS 6.1.4 tool is real and working. It hasn’t been released for public use yet. Jailbreak iOS 6.1.4 Is this post will be just another tease? Tomorrow Apple is expected to unveil its new iDevices for this fall and the new iOS 7 is coming soon. A lot of users will update and the need in iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4 jailbreaking will be unnecessary. Of course, there will be some people who are going to stay on the iOS 6 versions and they would be glad to receive an utility that can untethered jailbreak their gadgets. Maybe Winocm or other hackers would present such a possibility to them. iOS 6.1.4 Jailbreak The tool created by the Evad3rs is good for 6 firmware up to iOS v.6.1.2. It sadly doesn’t support later editions. For example, iOS 6.1.4 was presented for iPhone 5 only back in spring. It fixed some problems but also made the device unjailbroken. We have no news about iOS 7 jailbreak yet. We are sure hackers will get more active after Apple launches this operating system to its customers.
