Setup 3D Maps On iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch [How to]
Today I’ll show you how to install 3D maps on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Looking at amazing iOS 6 features you may want to enjoy them on your gadget so I propose you to add repo below and install this amazing Cydia tweak.
When Apple released iOS 6 beta many users desired to install it on their devices. But only iPhone 4S and new iPad (3) users can enjoy 3D maps. I mean that 3D maps are not the same as on A5 gadgets.
Few days ago we wrote you how to use 3D maps on iPhone and iPad without iOS 6. So if your iPhone isn’t running iOS 6 you can try that possibility. Or try to install iOS 6 beta 1 and follow my guide.
But if you are using iOS 6 beta on older iDevices you can use this guide to add 3D maps on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. But first read the requirements before start.
- The First you need to install iOS 6 beta1 on your gadget if you are not running this version.
- The second thing you need to do is to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 1 tethered.
- The third and the last thing to do before we start is to install Cydia on iOS 6 beta, because it doesn’t install automatically after jailbreak.
How to Install 3D Maps on iPhone and iPad
Note: After installation you will add 3D maps but without turn-by-turn directions.
Warning: We can start only after you complete all requirements.
Step 1. Open Cydia and go to Manage => Sources => Edit => Add this repo:
Step 2. After you add this repo go to Sources and look for Unlock iOS 6 Maps package and install it on your iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch.
Step 3. Right after you install 3D maps on iPhone or other iOS gadget you have to respring SpringBoard or close maps app in Multitasking bar.
Step 4. After you perform Step 3 you will see 3D button on your Home Screen so enjoy it.
That is it. You can use 3D maps on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running jailbroken iOS 6 beta 1 but without turn-by-turn directions. So you can enjoy this Cydia tweak on your gadget and take advantage of using iOS 6 beta 1 or can try to perform the iOS 6 unlock and free your device from the carrier.
