There are different ways on how to install iOS 8.2 which was officially released by Apple in March. We have already told you that you can upgrade through OTA on the iDevice or download iOS 8.2 using the direct ipsw links [just select your model and version, luckily ‘Freak’ security bug has been fixed by Apple in this release]. Just select the method as we’ll share both and install the new firmware if you haven’t done so yet. Step 1. Backup the iPhone or iPad or iPod touch 5G. This is the first thing to do no matter how you are planning to update to iOS 8.2 afterwards. How can you back up? There are two programs you can use. One is iCloud, the other one is iTunes. Notes. Since both PP and TaiG jailbreak exploits are patched by Apple, it is currently not possible to untether iOS 8.2 and install Cydia with third-party tweaks.

How to Update to iOS 8.2

Step 2. You can first try over-the-air update right from your iDevice. Connect to Internet and cross your fingers so that Apple servers can handle the amount of users who are downloading the new firmware. Go to Settings – General and select Software Update. Click on Download and wait till iOS 8.2 is downloaded. Click on Install and your iPhone or iPad will be updated to it. Step 3. If the previous step wasn’t successful, you can install iOS 8.2 through iTunes [you have to use the most recent version of this desktop program]. Step 4. Connect the ‘fruit’ gadget via USB. Wait till iTunes recognizes it. Step 5. Select your iPhone or iPad from the top right corner of the program. It will appear near iTunes Store option. Step 6. Press on ‘Check for Update’ and if iTunes can automatically download it, let it do so. If not, just use direct download links for iOS 8.2 as we have already posted them for all iPhones, iPads and iPod touch that are supported. Step 7. Choose Update and the new OS will be installed on your iDevice.
