More than month ago I wrote news that Cupertino company had won rights to iPhone5.com domain. And today there is information that iPad3.com domain now belongs to Apple. Cupertino company field complaints with WIPO ( World Intellectual Property Organization) where they asked for rights to iPad3.com domain. iPad3.com domain Apple This domain was registered in the end of 2010 and then was owned by Global Access company. But after complaints iPad3.com belongs to Kilpatrick Townsend & Stocton which is Apple's IP lawyers company. There is one interesting thing in this story. The previous owners of this domain didn't even wait for the WIPO conclusion on this case and refused the rights to such domain. However WIPO case is still active. Nobody knows why Global Access did that. But I think that there can be two reasons of that decision. Global access could have no desire to fight with Apple for iPad3.com domain or Cupertino company just made a deal with this former owner. It is not strange that Apple fights for its brands. Also it can be a good hint of iPad 3 release date which can take place soon. You know that latest iTablet isn't official named as third-gen device. It's titled as the New iPad. If Cupertino company is planing to release third-gen iTablet it is not strange that Apple now owns iPad3.com domain. So you better think twice before you want to register a domain that includes Apple brand words. It is risky to register or buy some because nobody knows what is on Apple owner's mind. I mean that iPad.com doesn't belong to Cupertino company and it is after 2 years after first iTablet release! And that is a mystery. Maybe you know why Apple is doing this.
