It is always hard to buy WWDC tickets because they sell out within minutes. This has happened in the past and this year the policy has been changed. Apple offered developers tickets this year via a lottery system.
Everyone who was officially registered with Apple devs programs could try to win the ticket. And now, as reports state, the company gives a second chance to some people who weren’t lucky to purchase WWDC tickets for 2014 event. The iPhone maker emails these developers offering them $1,599 tickets if they pay within 24 hours their fee.
All purchases had to be finished by April 14. It looks like not all winners got their tickets because of this new chance to pay for unclaimed tickets to unlucky lottery participants. Apple is even calling iOS 8 and Mac developers offering a chance to participate in WWDC 2014 this June.
WWDC tickets sell out very quickly. A lot of users cannot buy them even if they have enough money for being enrolled. There was no lottery to choose winners randomly all previous years. Maybe this is the reason why some lucky developers who were notified by email that they had to claim their ticket before Monday didn’t do this because they didn’t expect to win.
WWDC will tell us more about iOS 8 and maybe next line of Apple smartphones, tablets and Macs. The conference will be held in San Francisco. It will begin on June 2 and last till June 6.
