Now Apple blocks in-app purchases using "unique_identifiers" meaning that new field must include the Unique Device Identifier (UDID) for user who makes the in-app purchase. Over the weekend Apple blocked the IP-address of the server, which uses ZonD80 to simplify the cracking. In addition, the California-based hosting provider sent a request to delete the server. On top of that, Apple demanded that the video demonstrating the technology of exploit by ZonD80 was removed from YouTube due to copyright infringement. So as you see it isn't the first try when Apple blocks in-app purchases. Last week, ZonD80 presented his exploits, which blocks the application request for the purchase of digital content and sends it to a secure server developers and Apple. Instead, it redirects the request to a fake server. This server, in turn, "makes good" for the provision of client content in the in-app purchase without having to transfer money. The main problem for Apple, is that the exploit does not require the user any special knowledge or skills. According to Borodin (ZonD80), owner of the iOS device only need to install two security certificate and make a purchase through a Wi-Fi network with changed DNS settings. However despite the best efforts of Apple, the exploit still works. ZonD80 moved his servers to the offshore country where Apple can't reach him. He also improved the exploit so it is no longer used the App Store to authorize the purchase, which in turn makes it more difficult to detect. But Apple blocks in-app purchases by using new strategy and involves unique identifiers for in-app purchase receipts to block ZonD80's App Store hack making impossible to download any app for free.
