Earlier today we've got the Apple news that former Apple's OS X developer Bertrand Serlet joins Parallels, a worldwide leader in software for cloud computing and desktop virtualization. Today Bertrand Serlet announced the entry to the Board of Directors - engineering genius, the creator of the operating system Mac OS X. Mr. Serlet joined the board of directors as an independent director of Parallels.

Bertrand Serlet Joins Parallels

Serlet's knowledge of the industry will help Parallels accelerate business growth and continue to work on software, significantly simplifies the lives of consumers and businesses. In particular, his expertise is important in connection with the beginning of a new project related to mobile technologies.
With Parallels Desktop for Mac, Parallels Company was the developer of mission-critical platform for Apple, and I learned and appreciated the leadership of the team. I also discovered how deeply the company is involved in cloud development, given its product line. Now, drawing on the experience of Apple, I want to help Parallels to continue its growth trajectory.
- said Serlet. Bertrand will be the fourth independent director of Parallels, along with Alexander Galitsky of Almaz Capital, Jeremy Levine of Bessemer Venture Partners and Andreas Gaugerom, former founder of the 1&1. In 2007-2008, the company's advisors were Richard Wirth, founder of the Intel platforms and Mark Zbikovski, the creator of Windows NT. Operating activities in the development centers in Russia are engaged experts from around the world. In 2009, Amir Sharif joined Parallels, a former vice president, managing VMWare virtualization server, in August 2011 - James Bottomley, kernel developer of an outstanding Linux operating system, in December 2011 - Michael Toutongi, one of the 22 Microsoft technical companions. Bertrand Serlet worked at Apple for 14 years and left it in March last year. However, the Steve Jobs team was there much earlier - from the inception of the NeXT company, Jobs created it in 1985 after the controversial dismissal from Apple. Introduced in 2001, Apple Mac OS X operating system  has been created based on technologies developed in the walls of NeXT. Stanislav Protasov, co-founder of Parallels, head of development:
The value of Bertrand for Parallels is that it can warn us of mistakes moving in the wrong direction. His experience will enable us to advise on a wide range of issues - how the market will change, which products will Apple and Microsoft develop in the coming years etc. He is a prophet who knows the answers to all questions in life, and here we were lucky to still hear them.
Last year, Bertrand Serlet devoted himself to working on the cloud service, which aims to compete with Dropbox and iCloud. Unfortunately, nothing, except that the project requires talented engineers to UpThere (this is the name service) is unknown. At the moment the web-site is a static page with the logo.
