The WWDC 2012 in June is expected to present iOS 6 and its new features. The new iOS will be dramatically different than iOS 5. The main changes will be about usability and the number of useful functions first of all. Maybe some of the existing iOS 6 features, functions and apps will be discontinued. Let's think which functions can and must be included to iOS 6. What-Features-Will-iOS-6-Bring-Us The current list will be very short and it will cover only those features that are actively discussed within Apple community and should have been already introduced.

List of most desired iOS 6 features:

1. Expanding of Siri's possibilities and open Siri API. We can assume that Siri will be out of beta by WWDC as it is one of the most underdeveloped iPhone's functions despite all the ads and promotion. Just look at the list of Siri clones that do what Apple's voice assistant can't. Its functions must be expanded and the simplest way to do that is to open Siri's API. 2. Facebook integration. Lots of iDevice users use Twitter for sharing information. The main reason for it - app's integration to iOS 5 interface. What about other, even more popular social network? Wouldn't it be a great idea to add a "Share on Facebook" possibility? Agree, that absence of this function is kinda ridiculous. 3. Multifunctional gestures. Along with iOS 5 release Apple introduced 4- and 5-finger gestures for iPad. With those gestures you can  minimize or switch the task and thanking to them iPad experience got much better. It would be great to have such gestures on iPhone: three fingers together for desktop, three fingers up for task panel, three fingers left or right for switching between the apps. 4. Improved Notification Center. Good notification system lacked seriously before iOS 5 launch but now Notification Center needs reconsideration again:
  • First of all, it can manage more widgets.
  • The countdown timer or stopwatch would be very useful there.
  • It would be nice to delete all the notifications by tapping one big red button instead of clearing each and single message.
5. Improved cursor navigation. Nope, I'm not talking about iOS mouse-like pointer. That's all about text input and editing. The great idea by David Hooper concerning iPad keyboard was described on our blog earlier. The text input on iPad isn't the gadget's strongest side but there's a nice clue how to improve it. Moreover, the tweak already exists and the only thing Apple can (and must!) do is to include it to iOS 6.
