Pebble Watch with e-paper screen allows you to run apps from iPhone or Android devices. It appeared on Kickstarter on April 11 and gathered over $2,5 million dollars in their first three days there. The initial goal was $100k to start the production. That's the fastest growing project on Kickstarter so far and there are several keys of project's success. Eric Migicovsky and his team were developing smartwatches for the last three years. The team's first project was inPulse for Blackberry which gave them experience and ideas to dig deeper in smartwatches direction. Pebble is extremely useful as it has very good integration with the apps and has wide functionality: alerts for calls and text messages, GPS-based odometer for your bike and time of course.

You can customize Pebble watch as you want, it has many of cool and useful apps and connects wirelessly to your iPhone through the Bluetooth. When Eric and his team released inPulse for Blackberry the firs question the got was: "when will i receive such device for my iPhone". Their answer to this question is Pebble. It's the only watch so far that works perfectly with iPhone and Android. It has a hi-res e-paper display that looks fine even under direct sunlight. The way you can run apps with Pebble is really exciting. If you Cycle - use Pebble watch as a bike computer. The GPS module of your phone provides the data about average speed, time and distance you've traveled. If you like running - you can use Pebble to control your music, time and distance. When your hand are full, Pebble will display all the calls you received. Installing apps is also a very easy task. Just browse the specially created Watchapp Store, tap install and the app will be sent to Pebble in a blink of an eye. You can also control the most of iPhone's music apps like iTunes, Pandora, Butterfly, Google Music and so on. No SSH connections needed :) Those possibilities are only the beginning. The devs behind Pebble constantly extend the list of watch's possibilities. That became real thanking to huge financial support on Kickstarter. They will also launch open SDK so basically any app developer will be able to make apps for Pebble. Interesting: would those apps be free and will we get something like Cydia for Pebble in the near future?
