Yesterday pod2g posted a poll with question considering iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak release "Shall we hold off the jailbreak for iOS 6?". The feedback is pretty amazing. Right now the voice count comes close to 79k. There's still 5 days left to the end of the poll but probably hacker already spotted the final decision.

iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak Release 1

The famous hacker posted the poll for a few reasons. The first (and probably the main) is that he already has all the parts needed to execute the public jailbreak but he still needs some time to get things working. The second reason is upcoming iOS 6 release. Of course if he will release this iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak Apple will most definitely close that vulnerability in upcoming iOS. That means that by iOS 6 release pod2g, Chronic Dev Team and iPhone Dev Team working on jailbreak should start the process all over again. That's not very good option frankly speaking as french hacker doesn't have much time for developing new solution. Considering that WWDC will take place on June 11, we have to wait only 6 weeks till the new iOS goes to the public. And the possibility to get it jailbroken the very next day is simply priceless. Since iOS 5.1 is a minor upgrade of iOS 5.0.1 won't it be better to wait for an essential upgrade.

That's what audience thinks about iOS 5.1 Untethered jailbreak release:

iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak Release 57% of people think that exploit should be released immediately and 40% think the jailbreak should be kept for iOS 6. Hackers have their own opinions on what's going on. That's what i0n1c and p0sixninja think about it:
Stefan Esser @i0n1c That poll http://pod2g-ios.blogspot.fr/ just made my day. So @pod2g thinks about keeping his JB back. A wise decision.
Joshua Hill @p0sixninja If you're voting in @pod2g 's poll, know 6.0 beta will likely last for 3 months like previous betas
Stefan Esser @i0n1c BTW: Why that JB iOS 6 poll? Was the iOS 6 beta released?
Stefan Esser supports pod2g's decision to keep jailbreak for iOS 6. He and Joshua Hill also consider iOS 6 beta to be available for testing for about three months. Update: Download Absinthe 2.0 and perform untethered jailbreak! What do you think about it? Should pod2g keep the jailbreak or release it in the nearest future.
