A few days ago Apple corporation shutdown Ping - iTunes social network, which was designed to capitalize on a passion for music. This decision was made by Tim Cook from the scene on the iOS 6 and iPhone 5 presentation. Information attracted about 1% of those who saw iPhone 5 presentation. Thus, Tim Cook said at the conference that the new version of iTunes will not include the social networking service Ping. He added that the new members will not be registered in the social network. Also new Apple music service from was presented - iTunes Streamer but this is another story. According to experts, to such iTunes Ping failure led a number of factors, but most importantly failed talks with Facebook. The Apple Company was not allowed to integrate into the project its social component. Also there is other news that Apple will invest in Twitter so it is not really strange decision to shutdown iTunes Ping. As it became known, Facebook blocked Ping and deprived people able to find friends who have accounts there. The second equally important reason for the Ping failure is compulsive music purchase offers. The pursuit of excessive commercialization led users to the loss of interest that the user has to Ping before. Tim Cook admitted users clearly given to understand that this project is not interesting to them. Whether Apple will launch another service instead of Ping, is still unknown. Now Facebook and Twitter are more integrated with new iOS 6. OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 contains new examples of social initiatives of the Apple corporation. In addition, iTunes Ping is not the only project that was closed recently. As for me I'm not using this social network integrated in iTunes so it was not a big loss for me when Apple shutdown Ping. Also I read other stories with headlines like: "Ping shutters, no one notices" so we can conclude that I was not alone.
