No firmware goes smooth at its launch no matter how hard the company is testing it and improving while it is available in beta. Twitter iOS 8 problems surfaced when Apple released iOS 8 back in September 2014. This was an ‘unforeseen bug’ in the new operating system and it reportedly caused the company lose 4 million of users in Q4. Twitter now blames Apple’s firmware for everything [and there was a time when Apple wanted to invest in Twitter]. It believes that Twitter iOS 8 bugs resulted in the loss of new active users. According to the company, it could boast 288 million users in Q4 2014 [which is 20 percent more than in the same quarter of 2013] however this was less then Twitter expected to see. As Twitter said it wanted to add 4 million users which didn’t happen and the company announced that the reason for this is the bug in iOS 8 firmware. It is interesting that the company’s CEO Dick Costolo said nothing about the bug [no details or how it could influence users] but it still blamed iOS platform. Were you using Twitter on iOS 8 or not? Did the firmware really affect this network? Experts note that there was an issue with early OS release that forced iPhone and iPad owners to remove their account and later re-add it because of the bugs with authorization. Did you have this problem? The buggy iOS 8 is not a surprise but this is the first time a big company publicly blames Apple for its fails.
