I have some fresh news for all who are waiting for untethered jailbreak release from pod2g. You know that he is trying to find all exploits for this jailbreak and every week we receive tweets from him about successful approaching to the release. First pod2g demonstrated his untethered jailbroken iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1. And we all believed that release is knocking in our doors but it was silence. For more info you should go here where you will find detailed post about that. But not long ago we I received tweet from pod2g where he state that iOS 5.1 on his iPad 3.1 is untetherd jailbroken. And now is working on free unlock iPhone 4S baseband. But better look at his tweet:

Hey. iPad 3,1 running iOS 5.1 untethered. Next on the list: stabilizing the payload, than trying 5.1.1.

As you see he is an optimist and thinks that he will find something for iOS 5.1.1 too. Well, he is hacker, not me. May be it is true and we will see this long-awaited jailbreak soon. There also was news that it had been found kernel vulnerability for upcoming untethered jailbreak. After receiving an exploit from @westbaer it seemed that pod2g wanted to develop iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak for all iDevices and for all types of iOS, even for iOS 5.1.1. Also you can see the vidoe from pod2g which demonstrates untethered jailbroken iPad 3 on iOS 5.1: There is the other information which states that untethered jailbreak will come together with iOS 6 release. When iUsers update their gadgets to iOS 6, they will need then to jailbreak and unlock it. With untetherd jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and 5.1.1 you will have to downgrade iOS 6.
