Yes that's totally true, R-SIM doesn't unlock iPhone 4 on bb 4.11.08 and 4.12.01. I know that no one wants to hear that after a line of exciting unlock breakthroughs last week but that's how the things go at this moment. Just a few hours after loktar_sun published his unlock method basing on SAM unlock tool by Sam Bingner, R-SIM IV and Gevey Ultra 5.1 were released. Don't you find it suspicious? SAM unlock was able to unlock any iPhone on any baseband on any iOS using only software methods. The method was based on holes in Apple's network servers and was completely free of charge until it worked. R-SIM developers made a proposal that was able to unlock iPhone 4 Baseband 4.11.08 and 4.12.01 for $25.

And the final chords: R-SIM IV was released the very next day after SAM unlock method despite the fact that they planned card's launch to the next week or even further. Don't those facts make you think that R-SIM devs used loktar_suns brains to make their unlock happen. Snare roll - KABOOM! Yes, they actually did that, they stole SAM unlocking method and used it in R-SIM IV. Just like that. Now, when Apple patched its servers and ICCID unlocking method doesn't work anymore, R-SIM company should do something to protect the reputation. That's how R-SIM's site looks like now:

R-SIM VI Can't Unlock iPhone 4 Baseband 4.11.08 and 4.12.01

OOPS! The cards are suddenly out of stock! That's interesting, isn't it? R-SIM IV can't unlock iPhone 4 no more. Neither baseband 4.11.08 nor 4.12.01.

If you managed to unlock your iPhone with SAM during last week and it's working right now, be sure to save your activation manually, with redsn0w or Cookie. If you were smart enough and already did that, then here are the methods how to restore your activation ticket: manually or with Cookie (see the link above).

We have very ironic situation considering iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S unlock right now. Last week we had three unlocking options: SAM unlock for any baseband, R-SIM for bb 4.11.08 and 4.12.01 and Gevey Ultra 5.1 for iPhone 4 on any baseband. Now we have none. Looks like that SIM-based unlockers have to start the process all over again as they are the only real hope for iPhone 4 and iphone 4S unlock there days.
