What Devices Support iOS 8 Firmware Update [iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch]
Apple should release iOS 8 update this fall. Before this firmware becomes public you can decide whether you want to install it or not. It is best to start with the list of all iOS 8 supported devices. Once you know that your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch can run this firmware you are safe to upgrade. If you have an older model that is not supported you can simply use your current operating system version and improve it using other methods.
What Devices Support iOS 8
Not all iDevices are able to carry the new firmware upgrade. Along with iOS 8 features supported phones there are supported iPad models and only one iPod touch version.
As the first four beta versions say, the list of all iOS 8 compatible devices goes as follows.
What iPhones Support iOS 8
iPhone 4 that was supported with iOS 7 is no longer supported by version 8. Only users with models beginning with iPhone 4S can install iOS 8 update, including iPhone 5, 5c, and 5S.
What iPads Support iOS 8
iPad Mini and iPad Mini 2 are supported by the new firmware.
The original tablet device will not be able to run this update, but iPad Air and iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4 do support iOS 8 so you will be able to easily install the improved operating system.
What iPod Touch Supports iOS 8
Only one model of iPod touch line can run the new firmware. This is iPod touch 5G. Besides, the next-gen iPhone 6 and updates in iPad models will all have iOS 8 pre-installed.
