Great news for all Jailbreakers! The iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak called Evasi0n 7 has been released by the Evad3rs and it is now available to download for both Mac OS X and Windows.
Although Jailbreaking with Evasi0n 7 isn’t too complicated, if you would like a helping hand here’s a step-by-step tutorial for Mac OS X and Windows.
iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak Compatibility
Below is a list of devices and firmware version that the jailbreak will work on. If you are unsure of your firmware version go to the Settings app, select General > About and you should look for Version:
iPhone 3GS: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPhone 4: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPhone 4S: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPhone 5: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPhone 5S: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPhone 5C: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPod touch 4G: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPod touch 5G:iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPad 2: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
The New iPad (third generation): iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPad With Retina display (fourth generation): iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPad Mini: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPad Mini with Retina display: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
iPad Air: iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4
Important: If you have a lower firmware version than iOS 7.0.4, it is recommended to update to iOS 7.0.4 before jailbreaking DIRECTLY THROUGH iTUNES. Those who have updated to a firmware version over-the-air (OTA) have a significantly higher risk of running into issues with this Jailbreak. You will also want to disable your passcode.
Before continuing from this point, it is also a good idea to backup your data using iTunes or on iCloud (Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now) just in case anything goes wrong.
Now, let’s get started.
How To Jailbreak iOS 7 Untethered With Evasi0n7
First, you’ll need to download the Evasi0n7 Jailbreaking tool. After downloading, unzip the file.
Then, make sure your compatible iOS device is connected via USB, and only one device, right-click the Evasi0n7 icon and choose open from the menu to launch it. You may be prompted to allow an application for a new developer – click Open. Windows users should just be able to open it by double clicking the executable file.
You will see the evasi0n home screen, and evasi0n should tell you your device (and firmware version) is detected. Click the Jailbreak button to begin.
During this phase, evasi0n will then go through many status messages while it jailbreaks your device. This process can take up to 5 minutes. Do not touch or unplug the device during this process.
At the end of this process, evasi0n will let you know there is now a new Evasi0n 7 icon on your iOS Device, and to unlock your device and tap the icon. ONLY TAP THE ICON ONCE, LEAVING YOUR DEVICE CONNECTED. It will restart and continue the process.
After restarting, evasi0n 7 will run through more status messages as it continues to Jailbreak your iDevice.
When it is ready, Evasi0n7 will ask you to unlock your device to continue. Do so, and the device will reboot once again.
You will then get more messages on the progress, and finally a message saying done.
Cydia should now be on your iOS Device. You can press Exit in Evasi0n7 now and your Jailbreak is complete.
And that’s it you now have a Jailbroken device. A nice Christmas gift to all.
On a side note, Jay Freeman (@Saurik) tweeted this, for those who cared about WinterBoard. And there is an image attached to the tweet.
And here’s another tweet from @Pod2G worth keep in mind.
So, that’s it for now. Happy Holidays. Let us know if you have any questions in the comments section.
This morning the Evad3rs did something that caught us all way off guard. They released the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 7. The tool used to Jailbreak iOS 7 Untethered is called Evasi0n7 and is compatible with all iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and iPad Mini models running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4.
If you are currently running any variation of iOS 6 so that you could maintain your Jailbreak you are now safe to update to iOS 7. With this said, however, you may want to hold off due to the amount of bugs currently associated with the Jailbreak.
These aren’t any ordinary bugs you usually expect with a Jailbreak release either, the Evad3rs didn’t notify any Jailbreak developers, including the creator of Cydia, that they were releasing their Untethered iOS 7 Jailbreak this weekend so hardly anything is compatible.
The bottom line is make sure you backup your device before attempting to Jailbreak with early builds of Evasi0n7 because the chances of something going wrong are high. Pod2G did state over Twitter, however, “we are working heavily on fixing first issues with the initial release of the jailbreak. We have and we’ll update the FAQ on the website.” As such you can expect things to correct themselves shortly.
One thing to note though before you start the Jailbreak process is if you updated your device to a version of iOS 7 over-the-air (OTA) you will have to back up your device and then do a full restore to the latest version of iOS 7.

Do you have songs in iCloud or on your iPhone / iPad you wish to delete? Is it difficult to accomplish this task on the newest operating system iOS 7? Apple has changed its firmware and some things are done differently now. Let’s see what you can do in order to remove iOS 7 songs from the iDevice or iCloud [these tracks are not store on your smartphone or tablet computer].
There are a lot of different dual SIM smartphones in the market today, but if you are a big fan of Apple you might be in love with the iPhone only. If this is your situation you will be happy to hear about a special SIM+ case that turns iPhone 5 into dual SIM smartphone.
The case hasn’t been developed yet. Designers are working on this accessory that could be handy to all travelers allowing changing SIM cards with ease. The case is being created by Digirit. It looks like the back cover for the fruit device that fits over the gadget back and into its SIM slot. Designers are making their accessory the way so that it could replace iPhone 5 standard SIM tray with external porting for two SIM cards.
Do you like to travel a lot? It’s so interesting to go sightseeing when you are coming to the new city or country. Having a handy application on the iPhone can be helpful and time saving. The latest title I have discovered so far is Visit Museums free iPhone museum tour app that is designed for travelers.
How good is this program? I can’t say it’s perfect. It is not. The idea is cool but it’s not implemented the right way. It does provide you a list of museums in your area but you can’t get details on the place you wish to attend. Sadly, the program gives no directions. It would be so much better if Visit Museums gets cooperation with Apple Maps giving the ability to get the address and detailed directions on how to get to the places of interest in the foreign or unknown city.
The program gives you the link to the museum site if one exists. It’s not enough as you can always Google such information about the well-known places of interest. At the same time, this app is free to download. You pay nothing for getting the information so you can give it a try.
Are there any other iPhone museum tour app apps for people who like to visit museums? I’ll name some titles but they don’t offer too much. You can get Museums of the World app for iPhone or download Where To? program that costs $2.99. The last application gives users a big list of museums even though this is a navigation program. It also allows accessing Apple Maps application, Google and other useful programs that can provide your details on the upcoming trip.
Do you like exploring new towns? Are you a museum fan? What iPhone museum app do you use when you are going to a new city?
While Apple and its retailers offer the new iPhone 5c with a two-year contract for $99.99 and some $49.99, Walmart is here to offer the best price for iPhone 5c for as low as $27. The device is available at the store starting December 13th. Customers have to get the smartphone with a 2-year contract.
Previously you could purchase this colorful Apple handset for $50 at Walmart. Other U.S. stores offered it $0.01 cheaper. Target and Best Buy both were selling this gadget for $49.99 and Target consumers could even get the $50 gift card when buying Apple device. Now Walmart becomes the major player in the market with the lowest price possible.
You can buy iPhone 5c at Walmart for $27 but the smartphone will be locked to either Verizon or AT&T. You have the choice which mobile operator you want to stay with for the next two years.
Will other American sellers offer the 5c model for $27 or even less before Christmas? No one shares their plans but the new deal available at Walmart might actually influence other stores. With 2013 coming to an end, different third-party resellers are trying to sell as many devices as possible.
The iPhone 5S is more popular than its colorful “brother” even though it costs much more. New features, better camera and fingertouch sensor attract customers more than the price on the colorful plastic handset. According to reports, the 5S gadget is outselling the 5c model by 2 to 1. Even Apple is trying to garner interest from Americans creating aggressive ads in NYC and across the country to get customers’ attention to the iPhone 5c.
What do you think about this gadget? Is it worth paying $27 and staying two years with AT&T or Verizon? Would you like to purchase the “fruit” smartphone for this price?
Apple has presented its second update to iOS 7.1 firmware for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. This testing version has been seeded to developers who are registered in Apple Dev center. We will share direct links where you can download iOS 7 beta 2 right now and see what changes it offers to the fruit fans.
The new beta comes under the build 11D5115d. This is the second upgrade that follows iOS 7 beta 1 release presented in the middle of November. Apple fixes some bugs and problems, adds new improvements and solves crash logs. For example, there should be no problems with iTunes Match that caused long loading time in previous firmware beta version.
The second beta is also believed to supports iOS in the car feature [hands-free possibility for drivers to listen to music, make calls, use Siri etc.]. It was first talked about back in June. Still it wasn’t included in the official iOS 7 September launch. The firmware update comes with Car Display settings.
Download iOS 7 Beta 2 Links
iOS developers can log in into their Apple Dev Center account and download the new firmware beta from there. You can also use one of the links below depending on the device and model you have.
Since this is another beta, you are highly advised to create iPhone / iPad backup before you install iOS 7 beta 2. In case anything goes wrong you will be able to save your information using the backup.
Download the file and plug your iDevice to your PC / Mac. Launch iTunes and choose the option that says “Restore” using the beta 2 file for iOS 7.1 [you can find it by the ending .ipsw]. If you are using Mac machine, press down alt/option key while restoring. If you are using Windows, you need to press down Shift key while restoring.
There is information on the web about iOS 7 jailbreak release. It doesn’t come from the famous and reliable Evad3rs team, so don’t hurry to use the hack claimed to be real. The team that calls itself Safe3rd assures they have developed a solution that is capable of jailbreaking iPad, iPhone and iPod touch on iOS 7 and even iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4.
We advise you to not order it from Safe3rd because the team wants users to register on the particular website and pay over $25 for getting the access to jailbreak. You should remember that people are eager to give the first team that launches iOS 7 untethered jailbreak a special donation for the work done. This prize is still waiting for the winner which means that whatever method is offered by Safe3rd, it is not untethered or doesn’t meet the necessary requirements for being real.
We know that the Evad3rs are working hard on making the legit jailbreak for iOS 7 devices, including iPhone, iPod and iPad. There is no information on when their program is to be finally launched. Experts name different dates predicting it might appear in late February 2014 or even in spring.
Be careful ordering jailbreaks from unreliable companies or companies you know nothing about. Jailbreaking might not be safe for your iDevice if it is tested properly. Only the public versions that are presented by well-known hackers can be the trusted programs to use [you should carefully follow all the instructions].
You can read the official Evad3rs tweets and follow the news posted by other famous iOS hackers to know for sure whether the untethered iOS 7 jailbreak is really available or not. Keep in mind that public versions are always free to download and use. It is only your personal desire to donate or not to donate money for people who spent tons of hours looking for exploits and delivering jailbreaking tool for you. Beware of scammers.
iOS AirPlay feature isn’t supported by a lot of high quality speakers. Is there a workaround that can help you enjoy listening to your favorite music streamed from iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on an accessory that Apple doesn’t support? Of course, there is a method how to AirPlay songs to third-party Bluetooth speakers and we are about to share these tips and tricks with you.
Since iOS 7 is pretty difficult to hack, the community that can’t wait to see this untethered program released is more than happy to give the first lucky developer who presents iOS 7 untethered jailbreak solution over $5,000.
This sweet bounty is being currently gathered by one site.People who donate to the lucky dev are eager to fund the free jailbreaking tool for the most recent Apple mobile operating system. We know that Evad3rs are working on untethered iOS 7 jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch but this team of hackers assures they will not hurry to get the bounty for being the first to present the working program.
The site that’s getting donations from the fruit fans is isios7jailbrokenyet.com and you can also donate if you wish the first jailbreaker to get the money prize for the job done. The website is sure that anyone deserved to be free to install on his or her iDevice any app and game without being limited to App Store programs only.
Who is eligible to get the fund for an open-source jailbreak for iOS 7? Right now the program offers $5,000 but this prize can grow. The team to get the prize should meet particular requirements.
iOS 7 jailbreak should support iPhone 5S, 5c, 5 and 4S models. It should work on different versions of this firmware, including the newest not official release of 7.0.4 jailbreak. The tool should untether iPhones and be available for free. Developer should also introduce their program under Open Source Initiative license.
The idea of giving money to developers has been criticized by Saurik who believes jailbreaking should remain something “for fun to make gadgets more open” and not being a challenge to win cash for your work.
We all know that people do contribute to jailbreakers. But before they donated money after the job was done and not beforehand.
